Garda Road Safety and Mounted Unit

We were delighted to welcome members of An Garda Síochana to St. Columba’s N.S. today. Garda Neill spoke to our children about safety on the road and the importance of booster seats, hi vis vests and bicycle helmets. They showed us how their handcuffs work too! Then we went outside to see the Mounted Unit. Every child had a chance to pet the horse and we had our photo taken with them.

Thank you to Sgt. Joe Hanley from Tullow Garda Station who organised the visit. We all thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Swimming

First to Sixth Classes began swimming today at St. Fiaac’s Swimming Pool, Graiguecullen. They had lots of fun! It was a pleasure to see all our children participate in and enjoy the swimming lesson. We are all looking forward to swimming for the next eight weeks.
