We wish to extend our congratulations to one of our Fifth Class pupils who recently received a prize at Carlow Enterprise Awards. She won an award for her ‘Trolley Jolly Pad’ design which she entered into the Student Concept Competition. Well done.
St. Columba’s National School Parent Teacher Association will host an Annual Christmas Walk in Altamont Gardens on Sunday 10th of December, 2017 at 2p.m. There will be an Altamont Trail Quiz on the day and prizes for the best Christmas jumper. Refreshments will be served after the walk. Everyone is welcome. All monies raised from the sponsorship cards will go towards Christmas celebrations for the children in our school. Many thanks to the O.P.W. and Altamont Gardens for allowing us to hold the event. We wish to extend our thanks to our P.T.A. on their wonderful work.
Following an announcement from the Department of Education regarding school closures, St. Columba’s N.S. will remain closed on Tuesday 17th October, 2017.
The Department of Education and Skills have announced that all schools will close tomorrow due to red weather warnings being extended to all counties. St. Columba’s N.S. will remain closed on Monday 16th October, 2017. Keep safe everyone.

Our First to Sixth Classes had a great time on their school tour to Freedom Surf School in Tramore. There was lots of splashing and water based fun as well as combing the beach for sea glass from shipwrecks. Thanks to Ms Bryan for organising the tour.
