All classes are currently involved in a Creative Schools Initiative, which is designed to foster creativity, self-expression and imagination in children in school. We are the only Primary School in Carlow that has been selected to participate in the two year programme, which is being funded by the Arts Council.
Laura Ní Fhlaibhín is our Creative Associate and her role is to guide us through the process, helping us to select and organise activities that the children and staff want to do.
The children are looking forward to engaging in lots of creative and imaginative activities over the next two years.
Robots with 3rd and 4th Class– Wednesday 13th December 2023
James Garland came in to school today to show the children how to build and programme robots. The children really enjoyed the session.
A Trip to Visual, Carlow- Tuesday 28th February 2023
This was our first activity organised by Laura.
Halloween Activities
For Halloween this year, each classroom did some spooky baking.
When Laura came to visit the committee a few weeks ago, she taught them how to create a spooky Halloween picture. The children from 5th and 6th Class on the committee, taught the rest of the school how to create the picture today.
