It’s snail season at St. Columba’s N.S.!
Our children are very busy collecting snails and building snail houses for them.
Our Fifth Green Flag was raised on Thursday 19th June. The flag was raised by Mr. Neville Caldbeck following a short ceremony and prayers.
Thank you to the Green School Committee and Ms. McAssey who leads our Green School camapign with great enthusiasm and energy.
Today was a very special day for the Green Schools Committee. Representatives of the Committee attended a ceremony in Kilkenny to collect our fifth Green Flag under the theme of Biodiversity. It was a very proud day for our school. We are looking forward to raising our flag over the coming weeks. Many thanks to all the pupils and staff on their wonderful work over the past number of years.
We have been busy planting seeds in our school vegetable plot. The pupils are looking forward to maintaining the plot over the coming weeks. We planted turnip, carrot and lettuce seeds. We also planted strawberry plants. We are very proud of our school garden and are looking forward to watching the seeds grow over the coming weeks.
First Class discovered lots of minibeasts living in our minibeast hotel.
