Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Classes played five-a-side soccer today in Parkville United. They had a great day.
Thanks to Garry Coady from the FAI who organised the day and to Ms. O’Neill and Ms. Hunter Garland who attended the event with our boys and girls.
A slideshow of their day can be viewed here.
We were delighted to welcome members of An Garda Síochana to St. Columba’s N.S. today. Garda Neill spoke to our children about safety on the road and the importance of booster seats, hi vis vests and bicycle helmets. They showed us how their handcuffs work too! Then we went outside to see the Mounted Unit. Every child had a chance to pet the horse and we had our photo taken with them.
Thank you to Sgt. Joe Hanley from Tullow Garda Station who organised the visit. We all thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Junior and Senior Infants had a special visit from An Garda Síochana today. Lots of us would like to be Gardaí when we grow up. We drew beautiful pictures of our favourite part of the visit. You can see them here .

Our annual Christmas party was held on Tuesday 15th December for Infants, First and Second classes. We had lots of fun playing party games. We even had a visit from Santa Claus!
Thank you to Papa John’s Pizza who sponsored our delicious party food, Tullow Group of Parishes for their generous contribution toward party costs and the Caldbeck family for their kind donation of a Christmas tree.
The pupils from Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Classes attended the Volopa Irish Challenge Golf Tour Event in Mount Wolseley Hotel, Tullow. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed participating in a golf lesson. Many thanks to CGI Ireland for organising our golf lesson and thank you to Matthew Southgate and Ruaidhrí McGee for sharing their golfing experience with the pupils. It was an enjoyable afternoon. Take a look at us in action.
