European Week of Sport

Friday 27th September 2019

The children are participating in European Week of Sport this year. As part of the event, the children are completing the Tour of Europe Challenge. Each of the classrooms have chosen a country to run over the course of the week. One lap of the school represents 1km.

The Junior Room are running to the Freedom Monument, which is 1954 km.

The Middle Room are running to the Brandburg Gate, which is 1315 km.

The Senior Room are running to the Eiffel Tower, which is 778 km.

The children are enjoying taking part in daily exercise. The teachers have noticed a change in their concentration, when they return to class.

The Senior Room are doing a Sports League this week as another way of celebrating European Week of Sport.

Unfortunately, it was too wet on Monday to go outside and play sport. However, we made up for it! On Tuesday and Wednesday, the children played soccer and basketball for 40 minutes each day. On Thursday and Friday, the children played bench ball and tag rugby.

Music Generation

Thursday 12th September 2019

We are delighted to welcome Music Generation back to the school!!

The children will be doing lots of fun activities to teach them about key elements in music, like pulse and tempo. The children will also be learning lots of songs and they will even have some actions! There will be performances during the year for parents to come in and see.

We look forward to sharing our progress with parents throughout the year.

Our New Library

Friday 6th September 2019

Over the Summer Holidays, the Board of Management were very busy! The room upstairs, opposite the office has been turned into a library and computer room. The walls of the room were painted, new carpet put on the floors and bookshelves were bought and fixed to the walls. They also invested in some new Chromebooks. The children in the Senior Room decided to use their Golden Time today to sit in the library and play on the Chromebooks.

Thank you to the Board of Management for giving this space a make-over! We are looking forward to doing research in the library in the coming months.
